Welcome to The Sparrows' Nest, Nottingham
Happy new year everyone and welcome to our fourth monthly(ish) round-up, giving you an idea of what we have been getting up to.
Yes, we can't believe it ourselves!
We held celebrations at the Nest on 21st Dec - it was good to get together and think about all the achievements since the opening and think forward to the next 5 years!
Check out this interview by a Sparrow, printed in the latest bulletin of the Kate Sharpley Library.
There is also an article in the December issue of Freedom newspaper.
Please note, the latter link is no longer working (updated January 2017).
Welcome to our third monthly(ish) round-up, giving you an idea of what we have been getting up to.
First, an important notice: We have changed our opening day to fit our schedules a bit better. We are now open without prior notice on Tuesdays, 11.00am-2.00pm. But most visitors come having arranged a time in advance, and we perfectly happy to open in the evenings and weekends for you. So do let us know when you would like to come.
Our big event of the Summer was the launch on June 22 of a marvellous new work, A City of Light: Socialism, Chartism and Co-operation – Nottingham 1844 by local author, and friend of the Nest, Christopher Richardson.
Welcome to the first of reports we are aiming to bring you each month, so that you can see what we’ve been up to and what we have been buying for the library.
