We are incredibly grateful to the Working Class Movement Library that they entrusted us with their collection of early issues of Freedom. We have digitised these issues and added them to our digital collection of Freedom newspapers. The originals will be returned to WCML.

Prioritising the safety of the precious documents at all times, in combination with the minute font size on many pages, resulted in our equipment being pushed to the limits. About two thirds of the documents came out very nice, but contrast on the others could be a bit crisper. We are however very pleased that all are comfortably readable. All PDF files feature OCR, which even on the fuzzier paragraphs still has a very high degree of accuracy.
